Situated in the heart of the Komati Valley, Doornkop is malaria free and set in a private reserve of rolling hills and grassland savannahs. The Komati River and Swartvlei Spruit wind their way through the reserve and fishing is available for both yellowfish and trout. Doornkop is fully game fenced and is currently stocked with many species of non-dangerous large mammals, as well as about 203 species of bird. Game viewing can be enjoyed on foot, mountain bike, or horseback. Make time to visit the interesting ruins and discover the waterfalls and forest in the valley. Enjoy a feast of fly-fishing on rivers and dams on this scenic Reserve with outstanding recreational facilities in privacy and tranquility. This upmarket fully equipped resort is affiliated to a RCI Gold Crown Resort on a 2000 hectare game reserve between Machadodorp and Carolina. Only 3 hours from Johannesburg and 2 hours from Pretoria.
